An extension programme was organized by our department on 11.09.2014 at Government High School, Thindal, Erode. Mr.U.L.Dhanavel Murugan, Post Office Small Savings Agent, Ganapathipalayam, motivated the Government High School students towards savings habit. He briefed about various post office savings schemes available for people. Nearly 100 students participated and got benefitted.
An extension activity on Nutrition Week Celebration was conducted at Government Middle School, Thindal on 01.09.2016. The school students were educated about the importance of iron rich foods by Dr.S.Ponne, Associate Professor, Department of Foods and Nutrition, Vellalar College for Women, Erode. Drawing competition on Awareness on Anaemia was also conducted for the school children and prizes were distributed to the winners.
An Extension Programme was organized on 30.01.2018 at Municipal Girls Higher Secondary School, Karungalpalayam, Erode. Dr. S.Saravanambigadevi, Associate Professor in Commerce, Vellalar College for Women (Autonomous), Erode, had created an awareness among the higher secondary school students on various e-banking services offered by the banks. A total of 110 school students participated and got benefited.
An Extension Programme was organized by the Department of Commerce on 26.10.2018 at Government High School, Thindal, Erode. Mrs.G.Punitha Assistant Professor of Commerce, Vellalar College for Women (Autonomous), Erode, gave lecture on “Introduction to Computer Basics”. She explored the basic concepts and practical knowledge of computer and how a common man can use it in day to day life. Nearly 36 commerce based students got benefitted.
