World Entrepreneurs Day
On 1 st August, 2021 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution Innovation Council jointly celebrated World Entrepreneurs Day (WED) and organized two events virtually for the students namely Essay Writing Contest on the topic “Entrepreneurship in the Campus” and Case Study Contest on the topic “ Successful/ Failure of Start-up Founders”. Totally 66 students of various departments participated in essay writing contest and 11 students in case study contest. First three places were awarded for both competitions.
Turning Vision to Reality – A Special Meeting for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
On 06th December, 2021 Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized “Turning Vision to Reality – A Special Meeting for Aspiring Entrepreneurs”. Dr.T.Mohanapriya, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies (MBA), Velalar College of Engineering and Technology, Erode addressed the students on the entrepreneurial traits and gave insight to turn once entrepreneurial vision to reality.
A Special Meeting on Financial Assistance for Women Entrepreneurs
On 08th December, 2021 Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized a special meeting on “Financial Assistance for Women Entrepreneurs” for the EDC student members. Ms.Hamsaleela. N. Senthilkumar, Founder – Smarty Kids, Scooty Maskup, Guru Associates, Management Trainer – MaxCADD, Coimbatore was the resource person. She elaborated on the
scope of start-ups with live examples and various financial assistances available for women entrepreneurs.
A Skill Development Programme on Women’s Development in Digital Transformation
On 08 March, 2022 International Women’s Day was celebrated by Entrepreneurship Development Cell and A Skill Development Programme on Women’s Development in Digital Transformation was jointly organized by PG & Research Department of Corporate Secretaryship and Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Ms. Kalpana Chandrasekaran, Proprietress, Shakthi Tex, Erode was the resource person. She elaborated the scope of digital marketing in the present era.
EDC Competition
On 25th April, 2022 EDC organized its early competition for its members. Product Creation and Drafting Business Plan were the two competitions conducted. In Product Creation competition R. Sandhiya, I B.COM ‘B’ and M. Malharaliya II BBA (CA) won the first and second place respectively. In Drafting Business Plan competition P. Harini (30/03/2004), I B.Com ‘A’ and V. Kiruthika, II BSC (CT) won the first and second place respectively.
ACTIVITIES (2022-2023)
World Entrepreneurs Day
On 23rd August, 2022 “World Entrepreneurs Day” was jointly celebrated by Institution’s
Innovation Council and Entrepreneurship Development Cell. A special programme on
Startup Culture in Entrepreneurial Development was organized. Ms.R.Sanjithaa, Founder,
Spellbound Artistry, Erode was the resource person. She elaborated the scope of professional
makeup and also presented a demo for self – grooming through a model. She also shared her
personal experiences with the students and motivated them to transform as entrepreneurs.
An Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship – Owning Your Future
On 10th October, 2022 Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized an awareness
programme on Entrepreneurship “Owning your Future” for first year EDC student members.
Mr. R.Muruganandam, Programme Co-ordinator, EEDISSIA, Erode was the resource person.
He highlighted the scope of entrepreneurship, various schemes offered by Government to
encourage entrepreneurs and start up avenues. He also shared his personal experiences with
the students and clarified their doubts during interaction session.
Workshop on Crafting Your Curiosity
On 2nd November, 2022 Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized one day workshop on
“Crafting your Curiosity” for II year EDC student members. Mrs. Rama Rajesh, Fevicryl
Certified Professional, Specialist, Tirupur offered training on “Liquid Embroidery” during the
forenoon session. In the afternoon session Mrs. Hemambika, Fevicryl Certified Professional,
Expert, Erode illustrated “Lampshade Decoration” to the participants. The resource persons
had provided various tips to improve the students crafting skills and also furnished real time
experience by creating a sense of empowerment.
Workshop on Hand Embroidery
On 28th January, 2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized one day workshop on
“Hand Embroidery” for II and III year UG students of both Aided and Unaided Streams.
Mrs. Sangeetha, Trainer, Meenakshi School of Fine Arts had provided training on various
types of hand embroidery stitches to the students.
EDC Competition
On 17th February, 2023 EDC organized its early competition for its members. Essay Writing
and Just a Minute were the two competitions conducted. In Essay Writing competition
10 students were participated and in Just a Minute competition 7 students were participated.
In Essay Writing competition S. Sobika, I BBA (CA), P. Harini (30.03.2003), II BCOM ‘A’
and D. Kavi Sree, I BCOM (B&I) won the first, second and third place respectively. In Just a
Minute competition D. Pranika, II BBA (CA), S. J. Prabha, II BBA (CA) and P. Harini
(01.12.2003), II BCOM ‘A’ won the first, second and third place respectively.
