ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Mathematics [CA] was established in the year 2003. The Department offers B.Sc., Mathematics [CA], M.Phil and Ph.D Programme and has six dedicated faculty members with Fuzzy Set Theory, Differential Equations, Optimization Techniques and Graph Theory as their areas of specialization.

Highlights

Books Published

Arithmos Association has published “A Track to Crack Aptitude” a book with ISBN number 978-81-937002-1-1 to support the students in preparing for competitive examinations like UPSC, RRB, Bank examinations.

Funded Projects

An UGC Minor Research Project has been completed by Dr.K.K.Myithili with the fund of Rs.2,20,000 in June 2016.

Future Plans

Taking up more number of community research projects of practical applications with support from professional bodies.
MOU with Indian/foreign organizations.
Strengthening research with national and international collaborations
Increasing the number of publications with high impact factors
Conducting faculty development programme supported by professional bodies for research scholars and young faculty members in the fields of both applied and pure mathematics.

Activity

Bridge course has been organized for first year students to enable them to cope with the shift from school to college level
In the academic year 2018 – 2019, five students of III B.Sc., Mathematics CA were placed in Wipro and Infosys.
In the academic year 2019-2020, eight students of III B.Sc., Mathematics(CA) were placed in Infosys, Wipro, Hicitizen, Sri Sarvesh Promoters and Bright star.
A student of II B.Sc., Mathematics CA has attended MINI MTTS-2018 program held at Sri Vasavi College, Erode.
Free open source software are introduced through Spoken Tutorial to improve their technical skill.
As a part of Extension Activity, students displayed and taught Math models, an enthusiastic activity for the school students.
Competitions like Paper Presentation, Math Sketching, e – Invitation making were conducted to motivate the students.

In unison with PG Department of Mathematics from the year 2003 – 2018

In commemoration of the eminent Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birthday, Math Exhibition was conducted to develop students applied knowledge of Mathematics.
Every year a subject based yearly news-letter, “Math Maze” has been released.
The faculty members of the department published a book “Numerical Aptitude for Competitive Examinations” related to Add-on course.
